Privacy Policy

ABBC is convened by ISAAA AfriCenter. This notice explains how information is used on the ABBC website. For questions or requests about your personal information, contact abbcsecretariat@isaaa.org.

Information you provide

Registration records may include your name, email, phone number, country, gender, organisation, job title, participant category and photograph, together with your registration reference and payment status. The secretariat may also import registration records from a previous ABBC registration platform, retaining their original registration details.

We use this information to administer participation, respond to enquiries and manage event records. Submitting registration details does not itself confirm payment. Online payment collection is not currently enabled on this platform; an updated notice will explain the payment provider before it is introduced.

Dashboard access and activity

Authorised staff can access participant records according to their permissions. Administrative account details and an activity history help protect the platform and record changes. Activity entries identify the staff account, action, affected record and changed field names; they do not record password values.

Website usage and external media

If you allow site analytics, we count page views by page and day without assigning an analytics visitor identifier. These counts are not a count of individual people. We respect Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals for this analytics feature. Google Analytics and Meta Pixel are disabled.

Images and content are delivered using Prismic. YouTube videos and their previews load only after you allow external media. These services receive connection information, such as your IP address, when your browser requests their content. Hosting providers may also retain technical access and security logs.

Third-party services may process information outside your country. See Prismic’s privacy notice and Google’s privacy notice for their practices. Following an external link takes you to a site with its own policies.

Storage and retention

Registration and administrative records are retained for event administration and record keeping. Archiving a participant hides their record from the active list; it does not erase it. These records do not currently have an automatic deletion schedule. Contact the secretariat about retention or deletion of a specific record.

Your choices and requests

You can ask the secretariat to access or correct your information, request deletion or object to its use, subject to applicable requirements. We may need to verify your identity before responding. You can also contact Kenya’s Office of the Data Protection Commissioner with a data protection concern.

You can withdraw permission for optional analytics or media through “Cookie preferences” in the footer. This stops future optional activity on this site; it cannot undo information already sent to a third-party service. Read our Cookie Policy for more details.
